Have you ever annoyed with eye strain while computing? It’s a very common problem for digital people. About 91% of those experience computer eyestrain, known as Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS).

And if you feel eye discomforts or drowsiness, you would want to get rid of them as soon as possible.

I am going to show easy and short methods for relieving eyes strain. You can do it during your computer breaks. Beat eye strain, shake off drowsiness in just 3 minutes!

1) Warm Eye Pack

Due to the prolonged use of our eyes, the blood circulation around the area slow and weak. Lack of circulation disallows oxygen and nutrients in the blood stream to access the eye muscles. One of easiest techniques of enhancing good circulation is warming up.

Get a wet hand towel or an eye pack. Soak in warm water or heat it in the microwave. Place it over eyes for 1 minute. It provides excellent eye strain relief.

2) Eye Exercise

When you overexert your eyes, eye muscles get strained. Eye exercises can relieve their strain and enhance blood circulation around eyes. Palming and acupressure massage are easy and popular exercises.

Palming:

  • Rub your hand for 15 sec.
  • With your warm hands, cover your close eyes for 15 sec. Put no pressure on your eyeballs. Repeat several times.

Acupressure Massage:

  • With your forefingers, place the pressure along your elbows.
  • With your forefingers, place the pressure under your eyes.
  • Push up the inner canthus with your thumbs.

If you use holistic techniques the right way, you’ll enjoy computing more without discomforts. You can learn a series of eye exercises by the ebook, "Funky Eye Exercise."

3) Moisten your eyes

When you stare at a computer, you might concentrate and tend to blink much less often than usual. You may sometimes feel dryness of the eyes. It also can be a cause of eyestrain.

To moisten the eyes, blink often. Think about using eye drops. Try warm eye pack with a wet hand towel.

Follow these methods and you’ll notice that you can easily relieve computer eye strain and get back to work soon.

Eye is the "mirror of soul”, so it has to reflect the inner beauty. For a modern woman, who wishes her eyes to create the statement here is the eye makeup tips that can clearly illustrates her adoring beauty.

From Queen Nefertiti of Egypt, who lined her eyes with a black coal to the contemporary female executives, women have been using makeup to emphasise their eyes’ beauty. Making the eyes come alive is a real art and like any good artist one has to learn the basic tips of accurate brush work and colour blending. The basic rule in any eye makeup is to create the right base. In doing so, those dark circles around the eyes can be hid to create a smooth surface for other makeup cosmetics.

The most important part of eye makeup is in shaping the eyes correctly. This is done with eye shadow, using the theory of light versus dark. Eye shadow balances the appearance of the eyes. The eye shadow one selects should be appropriate for the skin tone and occasion.

The first advice for eye makeup is to start with a good eye cream. This will smooth and keep the skin around your eyes moist. Regularly apply them for three days and examine the difference. Remember to use your ring finger when applying the eye cream since it exerts the least amount of pressure.

Many women have problems with puffy eyes when they wake up every morning. Applying eye cream or eye gel helps in reducing such swelling of the eyes and one feels very refreshing.

In case you do not like to use heavy makeup for the eyes, your makeup box should include eyebrow pencils, eye liner, eye shadow, mascara and concealer. These cosmetic will care your eyes to perfection.

Eye makeup can improve the facial appearance enhancing the natural beauty. It will make one look beautiful, helping to conceal the enigma of aging. If makeup is applied properly to the eyes, it will have a great impact on the appearance. It also reflects strongly to one’s personality, how they feel about themselves, boosting self esteem and making them more attractive. When applying concealer to the eye, pat it on with the ring finger and do not rub. A flat nylon brush or sponge will be used to apply the concealer. Concealing creams are available in light, medium and dark shades.

If one has a small eye, never apply liner to the inner rims. Put it above or below the lash line. Flesh coloured eyes shadows, brushed on to your brown bone will open your eyes. If the eyes are very round, apply a natural kohl pencil around the whole eye. For very narrow or almond-shaped eyes, open with the brown shaped trick or pencil the outer corner.

Women should never darken the eyebrows since it will dominate the eyes and rest of the face. Too much eyebrow pencil can ruin the impact of the rest of the makeup. The eyebrow pencil should be used sparingly and fill in those areas only that requires it. For women having very thick eyebrows, eyebrow pencil must be neglected. Rather, tweezing and arching of the brows may be required in such cases. When tweezing, make sure to hold the skin tightly. Tweeze at the root of the hair and in the direction that the hair grows. Remove only those hairs under the arch of the eyebrow.

Eye Pencils
Eye pencils should glide on smoothly, without dragging the skin. If they are soft and crumbly, keep them in a freezer before applying, If they are too hard and pull at the skin, soften the point first by gently running it over the back of the hand.

Eyeliner
Eyeliner is used to define the shape of an eye. It is also used to make the base of the eye lashes appear thicker. The eyeliner colours should be consistent with the hair colour. For a blonde or brunette, brown eyeliner is a best option.

Eye Mascara
Mascara gives the appearance of larger eye lashes. When applying makeup, it is applied in the end. For those eyes having brown or black hair, black mascara would be most appropriate. For lighter or blonde, brownish black mascara is preferred.

Applying Concealer
Concealers will be applied to remove dark circles, scars, tattoos, blemishes and pimples so as to enhance the appearance of the face. Concealer goes under foundation and is used for spot treatments. They are more opaque than regular makeup, but still need to be matched to the skin tone and are applied before using the harmony foundation. They are also formulated that the subsequent application of makeup does not remove them.

Applying Mascara
Before applying mascara, curling of eye lashes with a lash curler is necessary to open up the eyes. This will frame the eyes, especially if the lashes are short. Mascara is applied in two coats by placing the finger about mid-lid or on the eyebrow. Once the first application has dried, apply a second. For thicker lashes, carefully apply mascara to the upper side of the lashes as well.

Applying Eyebrow Pencil
Draw thin lines in the direction of eyebrows to define and fill in light areas. Never draw an outline around the eyebrow as this gives an unnatural look.

Applying Eyeliner
The desired effect of an eyeliner pencil is to create the illusion of darkness just above the lash line to enhance the look of the lashes. Gently pull the lid skin to start at the inner part of the lid and draw a thin line smoothly and evenly along the upper lid. A very thin pencil line should be extended very closely to the lash line along the innermost part of the upper lid near the nose. This is often forgotten yet always adds an attractive natural definition to the eye. For achieving a natural look, place a few tiny dots of colour close to the lash roots along the lowers lashes.

Applying Liquid Eyeliner
Liquid eyeliner achieves a more dramatic emphasis to the eyes. It is best used when a dramatic and more glamour look is desired. The tip is to carefully apply so as to obtain the look one wants.

Applying Eye Shadow
The purpose for applying eye shadow to the lids is to maximise the eye shape using up to three different eye shades: light, medium and dark. Medium tones are generally more neutral base shades. Light is for highlighting the shade and the dark is for contouring. For smoother eye shadow application that last longer, try applying a thin layer of yellow corrector powder to the eyelids before applying shadow.

To reduce eye strain and improve vision is a must for every adoring eye. Here are few exercises for keeping the eye comfortable and rejuvenating stamina.

Massaging the temples will help to relax and lessen eyestrain. By using the tips of the index or second finger gently rotate the depression on either side of the forehead on a level with eyebrows. Do this for a minute or two changing from a clockwise to an anti clockwise motion from time to time. One can do this easy exercise particularly to feel less tense.

Using the first two fingers and thumb of either hand just gently pinch or rub the bony bridge of the nose. This helps great for removing tension and headaches.

Just below the cheekbone and under the outside corner of each eye is an important massage area. Any fingertip will do to stimulate this location. Simply rotate both sides at the same time using gentle pressure. One can feel an effect on the eyes when trying to smile at the same time.

Women’s eyes are the most exciting and expressive feature, so emphasising them with the above makeup advice is extremely important. Are you ready to give the eyes a mysterious and exotic allure!

If you are among the group of people who are both nearsighted and farsighted, the only option available to you is glasses with big, thick bifocal lenses. Frames like these are big and heavy, and don’t generally complement the wearer’s face. Bifocal lenses of the older type were hard to get used to. Fortunately, the latest bifocal contact lenses are much improved over the old.

In the older days, glasses used to be the only option. Bi focal lenses were the last to be developed. Fortunately things have come a long way since then. Today, there are many more choices available. You never have to wear those big clunky frames anymore! You can now get a pair made of rigid, soft and gas permeable materials.

The cause for this need is called ‘presbyopia.’ It usually occurs after someone is 40 years old. Since wearers of such lenses are partly nearsighted and partly farsighted, they are designed so that half the lens can view up close and half the lens can see far away.

The way such lenses are made is called ’simultaneous design.’ They have both circle powers, so that your pupils can adjust to whichever it needs, whether near or far away. There is another style though and this is called Concentric Design. With these lenses, the inner part is used to focus on what is close and the outer part is for distance focusing.

With Translating Design, the contact lens has a line which divides it. The bottom of it is flat so that it won’t move when you close your eyes.

The Asferic Design enable both near focusing and distance focusing. This is done in the same place.

Usually, the near vision prescription is located in the middle of the contact lens, and the prescription for focusing on distances is in the outer part of it. Depending on your situation, your eye doctor may prescribe the opposite. There is another kind of design where you actually wear a different prescription in each eye.

Usually, the dominant eye gets the far away vision. This will be determined by your doctor. You can also get the Simultaneous Vision type, where you can view both what’s near as well as what’s far at the same time.

Both corrections are controlled by concentric circles in the lens. It can use light from anywhere to focus on what is in front of the eyes.

The only problem with Simultaneous Vision is that light will sometimes bleed over from one correction to the other. This will cause the eye to have some trouble focusing, as it goes in and out of focus.

This puts the burden on your brain to decide which part of the eye to use. Leave it all up to your eye doctor. He will be able to prescribe the right type of lens for you.

Like most other adjustments, it may take a while to find just the right one that is suitable and comfortable for you. Contact lenses are not for all, so it may not be a good idea for you to use a lens correction system. You should leave this decision to your doctor. He can give you the best advice on which to use.

It is wise to keep yourself informed on the newest developments. With many eye care or vision companies you can try a free trial to see if that particular brand and style suits you.

It should not be hard to find discounts on lenses if you look hard enough. Most lens companies want your business, so they will offer you coupons as well as other deals. So, keep searching until you find lenses that are affordable as well as suitable. See if you can find others who have tried these and ask for their opinion. You might be able to get some good advice by searching the internet and look at websites and forums. What you also can find is various kinds of clinical lenses, for example lenses for astigmatism if that is what you need.

The development of computer technology the recent years has had a huge impact on the medical science. Today this technology is used in every aspect of medical field. This is also true when it comes to eye surgery. Nowadays, there are many types of surgery available to correct a persons vision problems. Laser eye surgery is one of the most advanced, and is used especially for the correction of problems like myopia (near sightedness), hyperopia (far sightedness), and astigmatism (distorted vision).

Why is the reason such problems occur in the first place? The main cause of such problems is problems with focusing the image on the retina of the eye and the reason for that varies upon three different factors:

the distance from the back of the eye to the front of it,

the shape of the cornea which is the curved clear front surface of the human eye above the iris and the pupil. It provides approximately two thirds of the eye’s ability to focus.

the shape of the lens.

The shape of the cornea is changed using special devices during a laser eye surgery. One such device is called excimer laser. What this procedure does is producing a laser beam that vaporizes tissue around the eye. It actually removes targeted areas of the eye tissue without harming the surrounding area. Therefore It also goes under the name if "cold" laser.

Laser Surgery Procedures

The most common types of laser surgery procedures are

PRK (Photo-Refractive Keractomy), available since early nineties and

LASIK Eye Surgery (Laser Assisted in situ Keratomileusis), first introduced in mid nineties.

The PRK procedure take small amounts of eye tissue on the surface of the eye and vaporizes it using a beam of light in this type of surgery. This procedure removes enough tissue to reshape the cornea and correct vision. The recovery takes a week or less.

The LASIK surgery procedure involves a series of steps that are considered complicated.

Step one is to cut a flap of the cornea and lifted.

Step two: the surgeon removes precise amounts of the inside layers of the cornea using a laser guided by a computer.

Step three: the surgeon puts the flap back in its place and the eye heals fast by itself.

What are the benefits and the risks?

Highly skilled and well prepared medical specialists perform the Laser eye surgery. For majority of the patients, the results are very good and their lives are significantly improved. They can throw away their glasses or contact lenses after a successful surgery.

Keep in mind the importance of having realistic expectations about laser eye surgery. In some cases it might be necessary to wear glasses for reading if the patient is over 40 years of age. The eyes continue to change after the surgery and you may have to wear prescription glasses or lenses at some point in your life. A second laser eye surgery is normally not ruled out if the first one is not entirely successful.

One side effect of PRK laser eye surgery, is that the patient may have a blurry vision throughout the healing process. Fortunately, this generally clears up later.

Regression is another side effect from such surgery. What happens is that the eye returns back to its’ previous condition. This might happen within six months and if it happens you might need another surgery to correct it or you have to wear glasses or contact lenses.

The negative side effects are very less in a LASIK surgery. Even the healing of the eye is faster. Since a LASIK involves cutting of some tissues of the eye the complications and risks are a bit higher than the other eye surgery procedures we have mentioned.

Lasik stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis and is a procedure that permanently changes the shape of the cornea, the clear covering of the front of the eye, using an excimer laser. Lasik is a surgical procedure intended to reduce a person’s dependency on glasses or contact lenses. If you are thinking about undergoing an eye surgery, think about Lasik eye surgery. Make sure you review all your options with an experienced eye professional. Every type of surgery should be considered serious. You always should understand both the benefits and the risks of the surgery.

Lasik surgery carefully removes the corneal tissue with a laser and this gentle laser then reshapes the cornea itself. This action in turn adjusts and strengthens the power your cornea has to focus on objects far and near. This type of surgery is more commonly known as refractive surgery. There are many types of eye surgeries that can be performed today to increase your vision strength. The most common other two types of surgery include, radial keratotomy and photorefractive keratectomy. These two surgeries are also aimed to reshape the cornea, but using different techniques to do so.

Lasik surgery can be done with a laser or with a small knife. The radial keratotomy is the type of eye surgery that uses this small knife. The small knife is used to make several slits in the cornea these few small slits change the shape and the focus of your cornea. These two types of surgery are very effective. Of course your eye will be incredibly sensitive following a surgery of this kind, but this is to be expected. You may feel slight irritation concerning your eye as well. These irritations are mild and a simple pain reliever will ease your pain. These symptoms are only directly following your Lasik surgery.

Most patients are very pleased with the results of their refractive surgery. However, like any other medical procedure, there are risks involved. That’s why it is important for you to understand the limitations and possible complications of refractive surgery.

If you decide to go ahead with Lasik surgery, you will need an initial or baseline evaluation by your eye doctor to determine if you are a good candidate. If you wear contact lenses, it is a good idea to stop wearing them before your baseline evaluation and switch to wearing your glasses full-time. Not leaving your contact lenses out long enough for your cornea to assume its natural shape before surgery can have negative consequences. The consequences include inaccurate measurements and can lead to a poor surgical plan, resulting in poor vision after surgery. The measurements may need to be repeated at least a week after your first evaluation and before surgery to make sure they have not changed. This is very important if you wear RGP or hard lenses.

Most people would have the misconception that eye lasik is a cure to short-sighted or long-sighted problems. The fact is eye lasik surgery is designed to improve the vision of the person under-going the surgery. It is not intended to give you super sharp vision or extreme clear focus. The expectation need to be correct. Many athletes with minor short-sighted eye problem would opt for eye lasik surgery. Now you might ask, why do they do so?

The number one reason is improve on their current performance with the sport they are in. Take for example Tiger Woods, the professional golfer, with severe shor-sightedness and need to wear contacts lens for each of his game. He is always concern about the weather condition like windy or rainy day which can affects his judgement. After his lasik eye surgery, he claim to experience an improvement in viewing the holes on the green. And until now he is still happy with his vision. Many golfers would agree to opt for this eye cosmetic treatment which ultimately can potentially helps in their overall scoring.

Another great benefit to the sportsman is that they not longer need to wear their contact lenses or vision aid device during their training. This would mean one less worry for them. Especially for swimmers, they no longer need to wear degree fitted googel, specticle or sunglasses. The cost in saving can be alot over a period of a few years.

An interesting finding shows that footballers, golfers, basketball players and hockey players are among the top group of people who opt to have an eye lasik surgery. This is followed by divers and swimmers.

With the in-born talent and training, athletes should be able to excel in the sports that they love. Althletes should not be put down by the problem of poor eye sight which hinder the growth of their career as a sportsman. Perhaps the biggest obsticle to the althlete is the risk involved. However, with the advancement of technology in eye lasik surgery operation, the risk factors would no longer be of concern.

If you are looking to buy some contact lenses then look no further than the internet. Normally only the more readily known brands such as Acuvue and Ciba Vision can be found online and because you are not using the traditional method of purchasing them by visiting your local optometrist or optical shop, you will find that you can get discounted lenses from the manufacturer who will ship them directly to you. Also if you would like to purchase coloured contact lenses you will find that the choices available to you online are far greater than if you decided to go to your local store. Say for example if you wanted to buy some special effects lenses then why not consider purchase a pair of Halloween contact lenses directly online to help jazz up your costume.

Unfortunately there are a large number of people who suffer with astigmatism’s and find it difficult to get contact lenses to suit them. However, these people will now find that many suppliers of lenses can offer a wide range of toric lenses and can be hard or soft and even coloured if they wish. But due to the precise nature of these types of lenses it is best that people with astigmatisms look at purchasing the best quality ones that they can. For example they should consider buying Acuvue Advance which will provide them with comfort and ease of wearing at all times.

However, if you are someone who suffers from a problem such as dry eye, or you work in an awkward environment then it is best to look at purchasing Acuvue Oasys. These are the first lenses that have been designed to deal work in any sort of extreme environment and are a must for any person who want maximum performance from their lenses at all times. These have been made using Hydraclear Technology, which results in more water and oxygen being transferred to your eye and just like any modern lenses found in glasses they also offer you full UVA and UVB protection as well.

Remember you should not accept less protection against UVA and UVB when wearing contact lenses than what you would accept from a pair of sunglasses.

It is important that any one with contact lenses should keep them clean and their vision will only be good if they take proper care of their lenses at all times. It might be worthwhile considering purchasing a product such as Ciba Vision Clear Care to help take care of your lenses and keep them in good condition. Otherwise if you don’t feel you can make this type of routine each day it may be well worth while considering purchasing either daily disposable lenses or the latest kind which are Silicone Hydrogel Contact Lenses and these can be left in for extended periods of times.

Remember your eyes are important and should be cared for at all times.

Lasik surgery allows many people to escape wearing contact lens and/or glasses, even if they’ve worn them all of their lives. It is used in the treatment of refractive vision problems. The word Lasik means laser assisted in situ keratomileusis. It is a very popular form of treatment today because there is little pain associated with it and because it produces good results. It is a quick form of surgery taking about fifteen minutes per eye. Lasik surgery is only good for three forms of vision problem. Myopia is knows as near-sightedness. This means that the light is refracting is such a way that distant objects are blurry. Hyperopia or far-sightedness is the opposite. People can’t focus clearly on near items, but their distance vision is fine. Astigmatism is a focusing problem that results in blurred vision.

The Lasik procedure is rather simple. The patient’s eyes are examined prior to surgery and are measured and mapped. This allows the physician to determine the correct amount of tissue to remove. The surgery takes place with the patient awake. The physician begins by making a flap in the covering of the eye. This can be accomplished with a knife or with a laser. The laser, which is generally preferred by patients, is directed by a pre-programmed computer to make the flap. Once the flap is made it is pulled back to reveal the cornea. The physician uses a different laser to remove corneal tissue. The amount to be removed is determined by the pre-surgery design and eye mapping. When this is finished the flap is put back in place and the eye heals. Most patients have an immediate improvement in their vision although it may take up to six months before the full effects are known. The result is often perfect or near perfect vision for the patient who no longer needs glasses or contact lens. The laser reshapes the cornea. This causes the light to refract differently through the eye to the retina correcting one, two or three of the vision problems discussed above. This is usually a permanent solution to these problems. People who have Lasik surgery throw away their glasses and contact lens for good.

Lasik surgery is rarely covered by insurance although some plans are beginning to cover some of it. Check around when looking for a physician to perform the Lasik surgery. The clinic closest to your house is not always the best.
